Mark R. Suenram, M.D.

Dr. Mark R. Suenram is a retired and highly respected family medicine physician who served patients and the medical community for nearly 50 years. He earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1978 and completed his residency in family medicine in 1981. Over the course of his distinguished career, he became widely recognized for his compassionate approach to patient care and dedication to medical education.

After practicing family medicine in Lee's Summit, Missouri, for 11 years, Dr. Suenram joined the faculty of the Research Family Medicine Residency Program in 1992. As a faculty member, he played a pivotal role in training future generations of physicians, sharing his extensive clinical knowledge and mentoring residents in the art and science of family medicine. He was also affiliated with Research Medical Center during his tenure, contributing to the center's reputation for excellence in care and education.

Dr. Suenram has also been an integral part of the Orear Institute for Postgraduate Studies, serving on its steering committee for many years. He provided leadership as the medical director of the Institute's Recent Advances in Medicine Conference for five years, guiding this key educational event to deliver impactful and up-to-date continuing medical education to healthcare professionals.

Throughout his career, Dr. Suenram was honored for his achievements, including induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and receiving the Mead Johnson Award for Graduate Education in Family Medicine. He retired after a lifetime of service marked by his commitment to fostering a patient-centered approach to healthcare. His legacy continues to inspire colleagues, residents, and the many patients whose lives he touched.
