Dr. Kimberly Swan is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist renowned for her expertise in minimally invasive gynecological surgery and her dedication to women’s health. A native of Kansas City, she pursued her undergraduate studies in Biology at Missouri University of Science and Technology, where she also played collegiate soccer. She returned to Kansas City to earn her medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2005.

Following medical school, Dr. Swan completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at Exempla Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado. To further hone her surgical skills, she undertook a fellowship in minimally invasive gynecology in Orlando, Florida.

After her fellowship, Dr. Swan served as an associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine for seven years, where she was recognized multiple times as an Outstanding Educator. During this period, she focused on complex gynecological conditions, performing thousands of laparoscopic and robotic surgeries.

Dr. Swan’s clinical interests encompass a range of complex gynecological issues, including endometriosis, uterine fibroids, abnormal bleeding, pelvic pain, pelvic prolapse, and adenomyosis. She is proficient in advanced surgical procedures, offering both medical and lifestyle options tailored to her patients needs.

Currently, Dr. Swan is the Program Director of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. In this role, she is committed to developing new OB/GYNs into healthcare leaders through clinical excellence, critical thinking, and process improvement skills.

Throughout her career, Dr. Swan has been an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopy and the Association of Professors of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a fellow of both the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is currently the Gleason Fellow for the Kansas Medical Society (KMS) and in that role is a member of the KMS Board of Directors and an Alternate Delegate to the American Medical Association (AMA) for the Kansas Section.
