E.J. Mayeaux, Jr., MD, DABFP, DABPM-CI, FAAFP is a LSUHSC Professor Emeritus of Family Medicine; USC School of Medicine Columbia Affiliate Professor of Family and Preventive Medicine; Lexington Medical Center Medical Director Ambulatory Quality and Family Medicine Associate Program Director. Dr. Mayeaux has taught for the American Academy of Family Physicians since 1992. He has made regular presentations at Family Medicine Experience, Infant Child and Adolescent Medicine, Skin Diseases, and Adult Medicine courses.

Dr. Mayeaux is a well-respected educator, skilled clinician and acclaimed author. He has published and edited 9 books including the Color Atlas of Family Medicine and the Essential Guide to Primary Care Procedures, both of which are available in multiple languages. He is the lead editor of Modern Colposcopy, 3rd edition, the flagship publication on colposcopy of the ASCCP. He regularly lectures all over the world on a variety of women's health and primary care topics. He presents regularly on leadership topics, skin diseases and skin surgery, medical burnout, joy in medicine, and other topics. He has dedicated the majority of his professional life to the study and practice of skin diseases, skin procedures, and women's health.
