Dr. Tietjen is Board Certified in Urological Surgery by the American Board of Urology. He has been practicing in the Kansas City area for over 25 years. He grew up in Missouri and attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City Six Year combined BA/MD program where he earned his undergraduate and Medical Degrees. Dr. Tietjen then attended the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota for his internship and residency.

His clinical expertise includes extensive experience with robotic surgery, microscopic surgery, as well as surgical and medical management of benign urologic diseases. Over his career, Dr. Tietjen has been a research investigator in numerous clinical trials, has authored papers, and has been a frequent lecturer for both his urologic and primary care peers. Dr. Tietjen is a diplomat of the American Board of Urology, and a member of the American Urologic Association, the American Association of Clinical Urologists, the Missouri Medical Association, and the Metropolitan Medical Society. When not at work, he remains busy as a husband and father of 4 children.
